A company and Platform for Investing in Movies/TV programs

Movie/Television business combined is one of the biggest international businesses we presently have and yet there is no means of investing in these businesses for small and medium investors.

The idea is to form a company with a trading platform. This trading platform will have listed venture which will have details like Basic Plot, Production Company, Financial Management Company, Script writer, Actors, etc and they will have a venture cost, time to market, rights and liabilities described in details. This Venture will then have a listed share price and number of shares issued and premium on face value. The venture will launch an IPO and people can subscribe and the shares will be allocated to them for the venture.

During the production, launch and so on the venture will have to share the financials and other significant information on the company website and that will determine the course of the share prices.

At any given point of time after the venture hits the market and has realised the profits/losses the venture management can decide to wind down the venture by disposing all the possible rights to some other company or they can decide to continue the venture.

At any given point of time the venture management will have to adhere to certain norms like minimum liquidity ratios, etc and as specified by the trading company.

For all practical purposes the venture company will be a limited liability public company and cannot trade on any other index. Minimu equity requirement would be as per the current bankers standard in the country of operation for the concerned industry.

I think a venture of this sort will provide a good platform for people to invest a small part of their portfolio atleast during the times when there are very little investment options.

At the same time Film-makers with good projects and reputations will not have to give huge money in interest for loan taken from bankers and sharks. And people with good project and small budget requirement will be able to realise their projects without top contacts and connection.
